1995 The Southwest Research & Design Institute of the Chemical Industry (SWRDICI), Messer and CarboTech had set up a joint venture company; the name of the joint venture had taken the first character of the Chinese name of three shareholders.
1999 SWRDICI transferred its shares to Messer and CarboTech; SMC became a German joint venture.
1999 SMC became a wholly-owned company of Messer.
2001 The company joined IGS, which is a global technical corporation, leading and promoting non-cryogenic air separation solutions; SMC had become a sole US company to date.
2002 SMC had become a State and Provincial“Hi-Tech”enterprise.
2003 The QMS of the company had been certified by TUV.
