In recent years, the renewable energy industry has experienced unprecedented rapid development, becoming one of the important driving forces for global economic growth. A well-known renewable energy company in Zhejiang Province has encountered a nitrogen supply shortage against the backdrop of business expansion and increased production lines. The two sets of nitrogen generators they introduced from some other manufacturer, each with a capacity of 700 Nm³/h and a nitrogen purity of 99.99%, have been in use for less than a year but can no longer meet the growing production demands of the workshop. To address this issue, the company purchased two sets of 1000 Nm³/h high-purity nitrogen generators from SMC, which were installed and put into operation in early July 2024.
During the transition period between the old and new equipment, a puzzling situation arose: even when operating at full capacity, the two sets of nitrogen generators from other manufacturer could only barely provide about 1400 Nm³/h of nitrogen, while a single new unit from SMC only needed to supply 700 to 800 Nm³/h of nitrogen to meet production needs. This significant performance discrepancy has led the company to a serious question about the performance indicators of the old nitrogen generators, they suspected that there may be substantial errors in the claimed nitrogen flow rate. Currently, the company is negotiating with the manufacturer of the nitrogen generators from this brand in East China.
