SMC participated in a major thermal recovery project of CNOOC and undertook the supply of nitrogen system for "CNOOC 162" platform. Most of the system has been successfully installed on the CNOOC 162 vessel in the dock of China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding (Weihai) Co., Ltd..

The rebuilt "CNOOC 162" will become China's first operating vessel dedicated to offshore heavy oil thermal recovery, capable of providing large flow, high purity and high pressure nitrogen for heavy oil thermal recovery.

The nitrogen system supplied by SMC, with a capacity of 2600Nm³/h @ 99.9%, consists of 4 sets of PSA N2 plants, 4 sets of air compressors, 4 sets of N2 booster compressors, 4 large air/N2 buffer tanks and other supporting accessories. The final nitrogen pressure of the system is 35MPa.
